About 10,000 customers remained without power in Dearborn Heights and neighboring cities along Telegraph after a substation problem Tuesday evening, DTE Energy said.

Crews were working on restoration at 10:30 p.m.; customers were expected to have electricity back on by early Wednesday, said Scott Simons, a spokesman for the utility. Many of the affected customers were near or along Telegraph, stretching from Dearborn to Redford Township, according to an outage map on DTE’s website.

The cause of the substation issue was under investigation, he said.
