Fire inspectors continue to investigate the cause of a fire that destroyed the Northville Montessori Center on Tuesday morning.

No cause for the fire was determined Wednesday after inspectors spent several hours at the site on Haggerty in Plymouth, said Northville Township Fire Department officials. Inspectors will return to the site Thursday.

Supporters had donated more than $19,000 as of Wednesday evening to help the school buy classroom materials and find a temporary space, according to an online fundraiser page at

Keith Gall, who heads the school, has said the private school is working to quickly find a space for classes. The school has about 65 students from preschool through eighth grade.

The school had been at its 5.3-acre site since 1982.
