Metro Detroit Catholics mob at Old St. Mary's

The Detroit News

Worshipers from all over Metro Detroit came and filled the pews, packed the aisles and lined out the doors of Old St. Mary's Church in Greektown as the Detroit Mass Mob movement kicked off it's 2015 schedule with a noon mass.

Archbishop Vigneron led the celebration.

The mission of the movement is to show support of the Catholic faith through respect in the old historic churches in the Archdiocese.

Offerings made at mass mob gatherings are used to help keep the iconic churches open.
