A regional flight for Delta Air Lines was delayed Wednesday at Detroit Metro Airport when the pilot backed the plane into the terminal building, airline officials confirmed.

The incident occurred shortly after noon as the Endeavor Air flight 3443 prepared to depart. The flight was operating as Delta Connection from Detroit to Chicago-O’Hare.

“Maintenance is evaluating the CRJ-900 aircraft,” Michael Thomas, Endeavor Air spokesperson said in a statement. “Customers have been reaccommodated on an alternate aircraft with minimal delay to their original schedule. The safety of Delta’s customers and crew members is our top priority and we apologize for the disruption.”

There were 71 passengers and four crew members on the plane, Thomas said. Initial reports show damage to the aircraft is minimal. There were no injuries.
