Redford Township — Police are interviewing a girl who escaped an attempted abduction Friday morning.

The kidnap attempt took place around 8:30 a.m. near Telegraph and Pilgrim Street, police said. The suspect fled northbound on Lenore in a new, shiny black four-door car with tinted windows and a soft top.

The vehicle is possibly a Buick, police said.

Further details on the circumstances of the incident were not immediately available.

The suspect is described by police as a 30- to 40-year-old black male with a medium complexion, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and 150-165 pounds. He has a short black fade haircut and an eagle or other bird tattoo on left forearm.

He was wearing a brown T-shirt, light brown cargo shorts and white gym shoes.
