Dog scares off intruder at Redford Twp. home invasion

Redford Township — A woman was attacked and injured during a home invasion that took place early Wednesday morning in which the armed suspect was driven off by the victim’s dog.

According to the Redford Township Police Department, the incident took place at about 5 a.m. in the 24900 block of Midland.

Police said the victim was asleep when the suspect, who was armed with a handgun, entered her home through an open window. The woman was struck and received minor injuries after confronting the suspect.

The invader was driven off by the woman’s dog.

Police used a K-9 unit to hunt for the suspect but came up empty handed. The invader is described as a male in his early 20s, 6 feet tall with a thin build.

He was wearing a dark hoodie, blue jeans and a ski mask.
