Rain, wind hampers Downriver cruise

The Detroit News

The weather could have been better for the 16th annual Cruisin' Downriver Saturday. Rain and high winds kept most auto enthusiasts away.

In past years thousands of car buffs would line Fort Street to get peeks at their favorite classics.

The cars cruise through the cities of Lincoln Park, Southgate, Wyandotte and Riverview. The route begins at Sibley in Riverview and ends at Warwick in Lincoln Park.

Cars generally drive up and down the route until 9 p.m., so it the rain lets up maybe the cruise won't be a complete washout.
