Female suspect sought in wallet theft, credit card use

Westland police are looking for a woman in connection with the theft of a wallet and credit cards.

According to police, the victim of the theft was at a VFW Hall at 1055 S. Wayne on June 15 left her purse on a table at the hall. She told police when she checked her purse later, her wallet was missing.

Police obtained images of a woman using credit cards from the wallet at a BP gas station at Wayne and Palmer roads. The victim told police that she recognized the woman from the VFW Hall the evening her wallet was stolen.

The suspect is described as a white woman with brown hair, about 30 years old and 5-foot-6 with a thin build. She was wearing a zebra-striped top in the images obtained from the gas station. She also appears to have a birthmark or bruise on her right forearm.
