Westland Police releases name linked to elderly beating

Westland — Police on Friday released the name of a person of interest in the beating and robbery earlier this month of an elderly Westland resident.

Jack Edward Todd, 35, is wanted in connection with the early morning Sept. 7 beating that left a 71-year-old man unconscious with multiple injuries, including skeletal fractures, police said.

Todd currently is an absconder from parole for assault with intent to commit robbery and identity theft convictions.

Anyone with information on Todd’s whereabouts is warned not to approach the man. Instead, tipsters are asked to contact the Westland Police Department at (734) 722-9600, Detective Gazdecki at (734) 467-3250, or to call 911.
