A Wayne man was charged Monday with killing another man with an ax over the weekend.

Prosecutors allege Jesse Wayne Gunderson struck Danny Louis Dart, 58, of Wayne in the head with an ax while the two were in the backyard of Dart’s home Saturday afternoon in the 4500 block of Chamberlin.

Gunderson had been living with Dart for the past several weeks, according to a press release from Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

Gunderson is expected to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of first-degree murder in 29th District Court in Wayne.
