Wayne County raid nets drugs, guns, cash, arrests
Authorities arrested two people and seized guns, cash, cocaine and prescription pills during a raid Wednesday on a drug operation in Wayne County.
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents worked with Wayne County Sheriff’s officers to execute a search warrant on a home near Tireman and Evergreen in Detroit and a storage unit in Dearborn believed to be connected to the operation, officials said in a statement.
Authorities arrested two men, who are being held in the Wayne County Jail pending charges, and confiscated more than a kilo of cocaine, several hundred prescription pills, six handguns and an estimated $50,000 in cash. Three vehicles also were impounded.
“We continuously receive calls from concerned citizens about dope men setting up shop in the neighborhood,” Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon said. “Today, by assisting the ATF we were able to bring some peace to that community.”
