Police said Friday McBride Middle School in Belleville was temporarily evacuated for a bomb treat.

School district officials said the building has been searched thoroughly and no threat was found. The school is part of the Van Buren Public Schools district.

Officials said students at the school are returning to class and parents do not have to pick up their children until classes end for the day. McBride has about 800 students in the seventh and eighth grades, according to the district.
