Inkster man killed after being shot through home window

Inkster — A 21-year-old Inkster man, Joel Rustin, was killed in Inkster on Monday night after being shot through a window, Michigan State Police said in a statement on Tuesday.

Rustin was sitting in the living room of a home on the 26000 block of Yale Street when someone, or a group of people, approached the home and fired multiple gunshots through the window.

Rustin was hit and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. An autopsy was performed and results are pending.

There is not yet a description of the suspect or suspects, Michigan State Police say. People who have information on what happened on Yale Street are being asked to call MSP’s special investigation section at 734-287-5000.
