Police are looking for a suspect in an attempted armed robbery at a Westland gas station on Christmas Day.

The incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. at the Speedway Gas Station at 5795 S Merriman Rd.

In a video released Wednesday, the suspect is shown inside the gas station with a large blue duffel bag. After a short time the suspect put on a mask and pointed an unknown weapon at employees and ordered them to the ground.

According to police, the attendant retreated into an office and the suspect ran out of the gas station.

The subject is described as a black man in his late 40s or early 50s with a medium complexion and mustache.

At the time of the attempted robbery the suspect was wearing a gray and black striped winter hat with “Detroit” printed on it multiple times, a black jacket and blue jeans.
