Suspect arrested in Harper Woods home invasion

Police on Monday arrested a Detroit man in a Harper Woods home invasion earlier in the day.

According to the Harper Woods Department of Public Safety, around 11:42 a.m. officers responded to a reported home invasion on Lennon near Peerless.

The suspect had forced his way through a front door and stolen items from the home, police said. The resident also reported that her car keys and vehicle were stolen.

Detectives located the stolen vehicle in Hamtramck and with the assistance of the ACTION team (Arresting Car Thieves In Our Neighborhood), detectives set up surveillance on the car.

When the suspect entered the car shortly before 5:30 p.m. the officers and ACTION Team arrested him.

The Detroit man is being held on multiple felony charges. Police are investigating if others were involved.
