Fire engulfs vacant Highland Park building

Highland Park — Firefighters have responded to a three-alarm fire in a vacant buildingin Highland Park.

Lt. Eric Hollowell, of the Highland Park Fire Department, said on Saturday the fire at 138 Glendale and Third could take several hours to extinguish.

“It’s going to be awhile,” Hollowell said at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

There have been no reports so far of people inside the building, Hollowell said.

He said the cause of the fire will be investigated, but “for a vacant building, it would have to be arson.”
