Canton police seek suspect in attempted bank robbery

Police in Canton Township are looking for a masked man who tried to rob a bank Thursday.

The incident took place at 9:15 a.m. at Citizens Bank on the corner of Ford and Haggerty.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank and presented a note to a teller demanding cash and a vehicle. The teller refused and the suspect left the bank. He removed his mask and headed south on foot, police said.

There were no injuries reported.

Officers from the Canton Police Department searched the area with the assistance of a K-9 unit.

The suspect is described as a skinny white man, between 6 feet and 6 feet 3 inches tall. No weapons were visible.
