Boyfriend pleads guilty in deaths of Southgate mom, son
A 34-year-old ex-convict has plead guilty in the killings of a Southgate mother and her 10-year-old son, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
Antoine Terrail Beck’s guilty plea to two counts of second-degree murder comes with a sentence agreement of 45 to 70 years in prison, officials said.
Beck will be sentenced Feb. 24 before Third Circuit Judge Thomas Cameron.
The bodies of Courtney Durr, 28, and her son, Samurai Das, were discovered June 7, 2015, in the La Colonnade Apartments on the 14500 block of Northline, according to police.
Authorities say Beck was living at the apartment when he killed Durr and her son. He was also accused of stealing some of Durr’s property and money before fleeing in her car.
Beck was initially charged with two counts of first-degree murder, larceny in a building and unlawful driving away of an automobile, according to prosecutors.
The ex-convict was released in 2014 after serving 10 years for armed robbery in Michigan, police said.
