Grosse Pointe Woods Police are looking for a suspect wanted for an armed bank robbery Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, at 1:57 p.m. a suspect walked into the Comerica Bank at 20200 Mack and handed the teller a handwritten note demanding money. He implied he had a gun, police said.

The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. He then left the bank and got into a light gray Pontiac four-door vehicle, possibly a Pontiac Grand Am, said Bruce Smith, Grosse Pointe Woods director of public safety.

The suspect is described as a 40-year-old male, 6-foot-tall with a medium build. He had a salt and pepper beard and was wearing a dark brown hooded sweatshirt.

Police continue to investigate.
