With the assistance of her family, Taylor police have identified the pedestrian fatally struck by a car on Saturday as April Lee Rosales, 55.

A family member of Rosales identified her based on the image police circulated of the necklace she was wearing when hit — a cross with Jesus crucified on it — police chief Mary Sclabassi said Monday in a statement.

Rosales was hit at about 10:35 p.m. Saturday while walking in the area of Eureka Road and Westlake, and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police say the driver was not at fault, but the driver was arrested on the scene after police learned the individual was driving with a suspended driver’s license.
