Woodhaven police look for woman who left dog in bag

Someone left this little pup wrapped in a black plastic bag outside of the Woodhaven / Trenton Shelter on Sunday.

Woodhaven police say tips are coming in about a dog found in a box in a garbage bag outside the local animal shelter.

Lt. Frank Miller said he’s fielded a number of calls with people offering information that might help police locate a woman seen Sunday.

“Someone left this little pup wrapped in a black plastic bag outside of the Woodhaven/Trenton Shelter Sunday on a very hot day,” the Woodhaven and Trenton Animal Shelter posted on its Facebook page. Sunday’s high was near 90 degrees in the Metro area.

If you recognize the car or dog contact the Woodhaven Police Department immediately.

The dog was left outside the shelter’s door.

The woman is believed to be driving a 2010-13 Lexus RX SUV.

Anyone who recognizes the car or the dog is asked to call police at (734) 676-7337.
