A 19-year-old Detroit man was shot and killed in Inkster on Sunday afternoon, Michigan State Police said.

The shooting took place about 1:10 p.m. in the area of Avondale and Carlysle, according to Michigan State Police, who have investigated all homicides and nonfatal shootings in Inkster since 2011.

The investigation is less than 24 hours old, but in the early going police say the victim, Kylen Guinn, was in an argument with another man. At some point, police said that man pulled out a gun, shot Guinn, and fled.

Guinn was pronounced dead on the scene. No suspect description is available, and state police have gotten multiple accounts of what happened from multiple sources and are still trying to form a reliable narrative on exactly what happened.

Police request that anyone with information on the shooting call 855-MICH-TIP.
