A 57-year-old man was hospitalized early Friday after being stabbed by his younger brother during an altercation inside a home on the 27500 block of Champaign in Taylor, authorities say.

Taylor Police Chief Mary Sclabassi said the two brothers were arguing and when the stabbing happened.

“There was some drinking involved,” Sclabassi said.

The 48-year-old younger brother was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.

Police are working to obtain a warrant request so they can charge the younger brother, Sclabassi said.

The victim underwent surgery Friday and is in serious condition.
