Suspect in Wayne killing held without bond

A 24-year-old Westland man suspected of killing a 27-year-old man in Wayne last Monday is being held without bond.

Tyler Lyndell Lankford, 24, who faces faces charges of manslaughter, manslaughter — death by weapon aimed with intent but without malice, firearm possession by a felon, and felony firearm, second offense, was arraigned Friday in 29th District Court.

The shooting took place at 12:30 a.m. Monday on the 35000 block of John R. Police arrived on the scene to find the 27-year-old Westland man dead from an apparent gunshot wound, accorrding to a statement from the Wayne Police Department. Wayne police and Michigan State Police investigated the case.

Lankford is due back in court on Nov. 29 for a probable cause conference and Dec. 6 for a preliminary examination.
