Westland Police are trying to identify a man they say robbed a Family Dollar on Wayne Road a week ago.

Police say a suspect, described as a 40-year-old man, 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, with a mustache, demanded money from a cashier Nov. 27 at the Family Dollar at 1963 South Wayne Road.

According to police, the man presented a note to the cashier and implied he had a weapon. The cashier gave the man just over $200. There were no injuries.

The man was wearing a black coat, tan pants and a white hat at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information on the robbery or the identity of the suspect should call the Westland Police Department at (734) 722-9600 or the detective bureau at (734) 467-3159.
