A Delta flight Sunday skidded off a runway at Detroit Metro Airport, but no one was injured.

Officials said the incident occurred shortly before noon. The cause is under investigation.

The Delta aircraft was inbound from Buffalo, N.Y., and slid off a taxiway, according to airport officials.

Airport officials also said the Airport Authority and Delta worked to safely deplane passengers and transport them to the terminal.

Delta is assisting any passengers impacted by the incident.

Meanwhile, operations at Detroit Metro continue.

Due to the weather conditions, officials recommend travelers check with their airline to confirm their flight status.

Flights arriving at Detroit Metro between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday are expected to be delayed an average of 40 minutes because of snow and ice, according to web site Flightstats.com.
