A former longtime employee at the Wayne County Treasurer’s Office is headed to prison for up to four years after he was convicted of inappropriately touching three female coworkers.

Dennis Patterson, 50, of Detroit was sentenced Thursday after being convicted of three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. He will serve 10 months to four years, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

Patterson will also have to register as a sex offender and undergo sex offender counseling.

According to authorities, Patterson was accused of touching a 45-year-old coworker while they were seated at an information booth at a senior citizen event June 18 in the Nankin Mills area of Hines Park.

The other two alleged incidents happened at the treasurer’s office in Detroit. Patterson was accused of touching a 44-year-old female worker April 20 as she walked down a hallway. In September 2015, Patterson also allegedly inappropriately touched a 49-year-old female worker while she worked.

The three women reported the incidents to a supervisor.

Patterson was terminated June 20 after working as a mail clerk for the office for 16 years.
