Ex-court official to face embezzlement charges

Grosse Pointe Woods — Michigan State Police have completed an investigation into the mishandling of funds by a former Grosse Pointe Woods court administrator and a warrant request was filed Thursday, according to Wayne County court records.

The former court official will be charged with embezzlement for $20,000 or more, embezzlement by a public official for over $50 and larceny in a building, if the warrant is approved, according to court records. The case stems from irregularities involving court funds, discovered in August.

The court administrator was terminated in September and the case was sent to the Michigan State Police for an investigation. The individual is not being named because charges had not been filed as of Thursday.
