Man, 60, charged in Christmas shooting of 2 juveniles

A 60-year-old Allen Park man has been charged with shooting a 2-year-old and a 16-year-old on Christmas in Southgate, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced.

Prosecutors say that Charles A. Miller, 60, got into an argument with another guest at a Christmas house party on the 12000 block of Agnes Road about 10:40 p.m.

Miller left, and not long after, shots were fired into the house, which left two juveniles with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the prosecutor's office.

Authorities say that after the shots were fired into the home, a concealed pistol license holder at the party exited the house, and was himself shot at, before returning fire and hitting Miller twice.

Miller faces four counts of assault with intent to commit murder, four counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm lesss than murder, two counts of discharging a weapon at a building causing injury, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, and one count of felony firearm.

His arraignment is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at 28th District Court in Southgate.
