Dearborn police are seeking tips to locate a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash last week that injured a pedestrian.

The motorist was driving a silver SUV — possibly a Chevrolet TrailBlazer or GMC Envoy — when it struck the pedestrian in the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Military at about 2:10 a.m. March 5, investigators said in a statement.

After the collision, the driver fled west on Michigan, according to the release.

The pedestrian, whose age and gender were not released, sustained serious injuries but is expected to recover, police reported.

To spark leads in the case, authorities on Friday released pictures and surveillance footage of the incident.

“It is important that we speak to the driver of the SUV in order complete a thorough investigation and understand what took place in this incident,” Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Dearborn Police Department at (313) 943-2275. Tips can also be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers of Michigan at (800) SPEAK-UP, going to www.1800speakup.org, or texting CSM and details to CRIMES (274637).
