Overturned gravel truck cleared at I-75, 8 Mile

The Detroit News

A gravel truck that rolled over while traveling on northbound Interstate 75 dumping its load all over the roadway has been cleared.

The freeway was closed for three hours Wednesday as crews worked to clear the dirt from the road, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. Only the left shoulder remained open near the exit to 8 Mile.

An overturned gravel hauler has forced I-75 to close at 8 Mile Road.

The truck was hauling two separate loads of gravel.

Also cleared: A Waste Management garbage truck that caught fire and was blocking the southbound ramp of I-275 to westbound I-94.
