Metro Airport deck reopens after vehicle cleared
Detroit Metro Airport has reopened the Blue Deck & Ground Transportation Center at the North Terminal after a brief closure because of a suspicious vehicle, authorities said.
Both were temporarily closed about 4:30 p.m., airport representatives said in a post on Twitter.
The areas were closed while Airport Authority Police investigated a suspicious vehicle, officials said in a statement.
“The vehicle was deemed suspicious because it was in the Blue Deck for more than a month and its license plate was not registered with the state,” the release read.
During the probe, “a K-9 dog detected an anomaly,” but that was determined “to be a false positive” and operations returned to normal, according to the statement.
By 4:50 p.m., the parking deck was cleared for business.
“We appreciate our customers’ patience,” airport officials tweeted.
