A 49-year-old Huron Township man is dead and an 18-year-old Taylor man is under arrest after a confrontation led to a stabbing late Sunday at a Huron Township mobile home park.

The stabbing took place about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on the 2200 block of Charlemagne, said Huron Township Police Chief Everette Robbins. The road is north of West Road and west of Inkster Road.

It all started when the suspect, accompanied by three other individuals, arrived at the mobile home community and got into a fight with the victim's son, who is also a teenager.

While attempting to intervene in the fight, the 49-year-old man was stabbed. Medics soon arrived, and officers performed CPR on the man, but he died at the scene of the stabbing, Robbins said.

Police arrested the 18-year-old suspect and are looking to piece together the details of what led to the confrontation.
