Jeffrey Thomas, 50, has been charged with not reporting the death of his 32-year-old girlfriend, Jennifer Butkowski, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday.
Police arrived to respond to a call of a disturbance and found Thomas disoriented and with blood on his hands, arms and legs.
Investigators noticed a foul odor in Thomas's home and entered a bedroom to find the windows open and Butkowski dead, wrapped in plastic.
Thomas was arrested at the scene and is charged with concealing the death of an individual, which is a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine. The Rockwood Police Department's murder investigation is ongoing.
