A boil water advisory issued for Northville Wednesday night was lifted Thursday after the valve was repaired.

The Great Lakes Water Authority repaired a valve on a main line that feeds into Northville's water system. The water boil advisory was issued at 11:30 p.m. and was expected to remain in effect for at least two days.

According to the Great Lakes Water Authority, tap water may be used for showering, baths, shaving and washing during an advisory, but don’t swallow water or allow it to get in your eyes, nose or mouth.

People with compromised immune systems, infants and some elderly are at increased risk for health issues during this time. Pets should be given boiled water.
