Multiple Metro Detroit schools were on high alert Friday after apparent threats were made, and a bullet was found in a school corridor.

Berkley High School went into a lockdown at about 1:30 p.m., after a bullet was found in the building.

Police investigated and the lockdown was lifted at regular dismissal time, the school district said in a statement.

"Berkley High School received an all clear from Berkley Public Safety, the emailed statement said. "Officers will continue to be present at the conclusion of the school day, but do not believe the building to be in danger at this time."

Officials at Plymouth-Canton Community Schools put Plymouth high schools on a “soft lockdown" Friday after there was a report of an alleged weapon at the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park, the district said in an email to parents.

After police finished investigating, the shelter-in-place was lifted, Superintendent Monica Merritt said in the statement.

"The investigation confirmed no weapon was on campus and there was not a threat to students and staff," Merritt said. "The situation has been resolved and students have been dismissed from school as usual."

The campus has three high schools, Canton High School, Plymouth High School and Salem High School, all located in Canton.

Earlier Friday, there was a threat at Belleville High School as well after police notified the district of a tip that came at 3:15 a.m.

The anonymous caller leaving a message on a tip line that reported someone possibly said something about a shooting at the high school on Friday.

"This incident stemmed from a conversation between students that occurred in December, Van Buren Public Schools posted on their Facebook page. "I am sure that the recent events caused the student to step forward at this time."

School officials said police were not able to confirm if the threat was ever actually made, but the district says "we understand the magnitude of this situation and are still investigating."

Classes were held as normal but with an increased police presence throughout the day as a precautionary measure, Van Buren Public Schools said in a statement.

No other information was provided by the caller, officials said.

The school is located near West Huron River Drive and South Street in Belleville.
