Authorities say a 59-year-old Garden City man sexually assaulted a nursing home resident who was in a vegetative state.

Police arrested Brown on Friday and then he was arraigned by Judge Laura Mack at the 29th District Court in Wayne.

He faces up to two years in prison and a fine of $500.

Brown was given a $5,000 personal bond.

His probable cause hearing was set for 9 a.m. March 20 and preliminary examination at 9 a.m. on March 27.
