Fire claims 2 homes in Taylor

Taylor authorities are investigating a blaze that destroyed two homes Monday afternoon.

The fire is believed to have started about 4 p.m. in a utility room at a home on Holland, spread to a DTE service drop line then moved to another home on neighboring Wick, said Eric Younan, a company representative.

“It was unrelated to our service,” he said, adding DTE crews shut off gas and power as firefighters worked to douse the flames.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

City fire officials could not be reached for comment Monday.
