Train hits woman in Van Buren Township
An unidentified woman was hit by a train Monday morning in Van Buren Township, police officials said.
Police also said they are not releasing any further information at this time.
Officers are still at the scene of the incident, which happened at about 8 a.m. on Bemis Road between Rawsonville and Lohr roads, according to authorities.
Meanwhile, the Sumpter Township railroad crossings at Bemis east of Rawsonville and Rawsonville south of Bemis are closed until further notice, Sumpter Township Police said in a Facebook post.
They said the Bunton Road crossing in Augusta Township is open as a detour.
Monday's train incident comes about two weeks after a 15-year-old male was hit by a train in nearby Belleville.
