The Livonia Police Department rescued a black cat from Interstate 96 earlier in May, and now the cat, Libby, is available for adoption through the Michigan Humane Society.

The cat was spotted on I-96 near Levan, and filmed by the body camera of Officer Cameron Koss. A 911 caller saw the cat on the road and alerted the officer. This was on May 5, per the timestamp on the footage.

Koss and another officer formed a perimeter around the cat, and Officer Koss grabbed the cat before it could jump over the barrier.

Since being rescued from the freeway, Libby has been treated for an upper respiratory infection and fed regularly.
