A man has been charged with breaking into cars and threatening a person with a knife, Wyandotte police officials said Thursday.

Aaron Cody Brown, 22, was arraigned Monday in 27th District Court on two counts of breaking and entering motor vehicles and felonious assault, they said.

A judge ordered him held on a $100,000 bond and required to wear a GPS tether if released from the Wayne County Jail.

Officials said witnesses saw Brown breaking into vehicles and chased him on foot as they called police for help.

The witnesses told police after they cornered Brown, he pulled a knife on them, according to authorities.

During their investigation, Wyandotte police detectives learned Brown is wanted for using stolen credit cards in June at Ecorse convenience stores and gas stations and for receiving and concealing a stolen automobile in River Rouge the same month.

Police said Brown is also suspected in two more stolen vehicle cases in the city of Wyandotte.
