Harper Woods man accused of masturbating in front of teen neighbor

Harper Woods — A Harper Woods man is charged with allegedly masturbating in front of his bedroom window to get the attention of a 15-year-old neighbor, police said. 

Paul Raymond Heabeart, 46, was arrested Sunday at his home in the 20800 block of Anita. He was charged with aggravated indecent exposure Tuesday and arraigned in the 32-A District Court. His bail was set at $50,000. 

Police say Heabeart intentionally gained the attention of the 15-year-old female, who was inside her residence next to Heabeart's, so she could observe him. The teenage girl notified her parents who called police. 

Heabeart faces up to two years in prison and must be registered as a sex offender if convicted. 

A probable cause conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in 32-A District Court.
