Police: Man dies in fiery crash on I-94

A man died early Sunday in  a fiery, single-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 in Romulus, Michigan State Police said. 

The crash took place about 2:50 a.m. when the man's vehicle hit a pole and caught fire on westbound I-94 at Middle Belt, Michigan State Police posted on Twitter.

Troopers reached the vehicle, saw the man engulfed in fire and unsuccessfully attempted to put it out.

The man died at the scene. Police have not yet determined the cause of the crash.
