Livonia police are searching for a suspect who asked a Clarenceville High School student Wednesday to get into this vehicle.

Livonia police are looking for a man who tried to get a teenage girl walking to school to get in to his vehicle Wednesday, officials said.

Police said the incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. at Clarenceville High School, 20155 Middle Belt, near Eight Mile.

A 16-year-old student told police a man in a vehicle followed her as she walked to the school, according to officials.

The man pulled his vehicle, a black Cadillac Escalade, into the school's parking lot, rolled down his window and spoke to the girl for more than a minute and asked her to get into his car, police said.

The girl retreated into the school and told staff about the incident, officials said.

The suspect left the parking lot, heading south on Middle Belt, according to authorities.

Police released an image of the suspect's vehicle captured by a surveillance camera.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect should call the Livonia Police Department at (734) 466-2470.
