Dearborn Heights police are looking for a man they believe has robbed several 7-Eleven convenience stores in Wayne County, officials said.

The suspect was seen driving in a dark-colored sedan, possibly a 2005-2010 Chevrolet Impala, according to police.

Authorities said he most recently struck Sunday at two 7-Eleven stores in Dearborn Heights within hours of each other, one on Pelham Street near Van Born Road and the other on Cherry Hill near Inkster Road.

Both times the suspect implied he had a gun and demanded the store clerks lift out the tray of the cash register drawers to see if there was more money there, officials said.

In one of the robberies, the suspect demanded a pack of Newport cigarettes, they said.

Police said they believe the suspect also struck at 7-Eleven stores in other cities, including one on Allen Road at Sibley Road in Brownstown Township and one on Telegraph at Eureka Road in Taylor.

Anyone with information about the robberies or the suspect should call Dearborn Heights Police Det. Joseph Reyna at (313) 277-7709.
