District: Wayne Memorial principal reassigned after allegation
Wayne — "Out of an abundance of caution" and relating to "an allegation" made to Wayne Police Department on Monday, Wayne-Westland Community School District has reassigned the principal of Wayne Memorial High School to the superintendent's office as authorities investigate.
The reassigned principal, who the district's website names as Kevin Weber, "will serve as an administrator on special assignment," pending completion of the Wayne Police Department's investigation.
Jenny Johnson, a spokeswoman for the district, declined to go into specifics of what's been alleged, citing that it's a "personnel matter" still being investigated.
The Wayne Police Department has not responded to requests for information.
An assistant principal at Wayne High, Lindsay Rousseau, is serving as interim principal.

Greetings School Community:
On October 22, 2018, an allegation was reported to the Wayne Police Department. Out of an abundance of caution for our students and educational community, the Wayne-Westland Community School District has temporarily assigned the high school principal of Wayne Memorial to the Office of the Superintendent. He will serve as an administrator on special assignment pending the completion of a thorough police investigation. We will update the school community as information becomes available.
In the meantime, Mrs. Lindsay Rousseau will serve as interim principal.
