Westland police are asking the public for help to identify a suspect who struck a house, a garage and a parked vehicle in a backyard with a pickup, officials said.

The incident happened at about 3:35 a.m. on Aug. 19 in the 27000 block of Van Born Road, according to authorities.

Officials released video of the incident Thursday.

Police said the suspect drove a red Ford F-150 with an extended cab and a 4x4 logo on it. The suspect is described as a white male, 25- to 30 years-old with tattoos on his arms. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, officials said.

The suspect drove the red truck to the victim's home and parked in its driveway, according to investigators.

After sitting in the driveway for a while, the suspect drove the truck into the backyard and struck another pickup, a garage and the house with his vehicle, they said.

The suspect then got out of his truck and tried to open a door to the house, police said.

He returned to his truck and and left the scene at about 8:40 a.m., officials said.
