Romulus — A suspect accused of shooting a woman in the face on Saturday has turned himself in to Romulus police.
Police announced on Facebook that Kyon Lamar Smith surrendered himself on Monday after he allegedly shot a 37-year-old woman during what they called a transaction regarding an automobile.
The victim and a 39-year-old man drove on Saturday to a parking lot at the Concorde Club Apartments — just off Ecorse, and west of Merriman — to look at a vehicle, said Captain Derran Shelby, a spokesman for the Romulus Police Department.
That's when the suspect allegedly jumped out and held the pair at gunpoint before shooting the woman.
