Garden City man arrested after shooting two people in home
Garden City — A 75-year-old man was arrested Monday, accused of shooting two people in a home, officials said.
Officers were called to a home on Belton near Cherry Hill Road at about 11 a.m. Monday to respond to a report of gunshots, according to authorities.
They found two people with gunshot wounds inside the home, police said. They took them to a hospital to be treated.
Police then set up a perimeter to contain the 75-year-old in the home, officials said.
The police department then summoned the Western Wayne County Special Operations Team, a SWAT and hostage negotiation team.
Authorities said the team negotiated a peaceful surrender with the suspect at about 1:30 p.m. The suspect walked out of the home and was taken into custody, police said.
