Detroit — School threats, wrongful convictions and rape kits are among the topics Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is scheduled to discuss at a forum Thursday.

The discussion, the third in Worthy's Town Hall meetings throughout Wayne County, is to be held from 7-9 p.m. at Wayne County Community College-Northwest Campus, 8200 W. Outer Drive in Detroit.

Worthy and her staff will give brief presentations about how the prosecutor's office operates, school threats, domestic violence, sexual assault kits, the Conviction Integrity Unit, Drug and Mental Health Court and the Community Prosecution Unit, according to a press release.

“There are so many serious issues right now that my office deals with on a daily basis," Worthy said in the release. "Most people’s idea of what an urban prosecutor’s office is, and what we deal with on a daily basis, is not depicted realistically anywhere.

After the presentation, audience members may ask questions, the release said. Light refreshments will be served, and Worthy will meet attendees during the last half-hour of the event.

Worthy said future town hall meetings will be held throughout Wayne County.
